Asian equities opened the trading session with an average decline of 1.5%, followed by gains in Europe and the U.S., where the Dow led the way with a gain of nearly 2%, accompanied by a 2-4 basis point drop in yields in both Europe and the U.S. In commodities, crude oil fell 3% amid apparent progress in negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, while agricultural and metal markets closed mixed, with several agricultural commodities falling more than 2% due to low demand from China in particular.
Venezuela and PDVSA ended the day with no significant changes, with sovereign yields edging down slightly (by an average of 0.10 percentage points).
Latin American bonds had a positive day, with the region’s major issuers rising by 0.25–0.5 percentage points, and spreads narrowing slightly.
