The week ends with a strong risk-off wave in response to Trump's comments, who said he "sees no reason" to meet with Xi and threatened to impose a new round of tariffs. U.S. indices fell sharply, with the Nasdaq down 3.6% and the S&P500 down 2.7%, following declines of 1-2% in Europe and Asia; European treasuries and sovereign bonds acted as safe havens, with the main curves rising and yields falling as much as 8bps. In commodities, crude oil had a significant drop of 4%, falling below $59 for WTI and $63 for Brent; gold returned above $4000 per oz and silver closed at $50.
Venezuela and PDVSA finish between flat and slightly down after opposition leader Maria Corina Machado won the Nobel Peace Prize.
In Latin American credits, Ecuador fell 2.5pts, Argentina -1pt and the rest of the region between -0.5pts and -1pt due to the generalized risk-off.
